HAPRI SEMINAR: Exposure to export and intra-household allocation in healthcare and education

This is one of the few studies analyzing the impact of trade liberalization on household resource allocation in female healthcare and education expenditures. The research findings show that the household's participation in international trade contributes to increasing expenditure on female education; but does not affect expenditure on female healthcare within the household. At the same time, the gender, educational level of the household head, and the number of female members in the household are positively correlated with expenditure on female education; while the age of the household head and the number of household members show an inverse correlation with expenditure on female education.
